ZT-CARD envisions a secure, resilient future for distributed energy resource (DER) networks by integrating Zero Trust (ZT) principles, such as least privilege and granular access control. The project will develop tools and technologies to implement a cybersecurity-by-design approach for DER communication networks.

Central to this vision is developing a ZT-enabled, real-time cybersecurity situational awareness platform, supported by advanced cyber resiliency and control resiliency algorithms, to holistically prevent, detect, and mitigate stealthy cyber threats.

Emphasizing inclusivity and practical impact, ZT-CARD engages diverse stakeholders to ensure equitable protection and widespread adoption of advanced ZT-enabled security solutions across modern DER-integrated distribution systems.
